This is my first critique and english is not my native language, so I try my best to write everything understandable...

What first got my attention here have been the warm colors and I rightaway felt like it must be very warm in this scenery, where he is. my eyes were drawn to the gladiator rightaway and I looked at the lines of his muscles which are perfect in my opinion (that means - not too much but still there! I myself tend to give my guys always a little too much definition which is okay for a fantasy image but here we have this realitic attempt, so too many muscles would be bad in my opinion...) and I noticed the dirt on his body which adds to the whole realism of this scene. This shows that you created this with attention for the detail. I also like very much that some details of his armor are very very bright because of the sunlight which underlines the whole "whoa, it must be hot there" feeling about it. Too bad we cannot see his face but maybe this is another thing that makes this gladiator so interesting.

The surroundings are simply fantastic! I like the structure of the stone a lot and the shadows again underline the realism here. There is nothing more I can say about the surrounding. I think, I do not like the lamp at the right of the image, but that might be a matter of personal taste.

So all in all - the realism is fantastically done, the pose of the guy is good, the lighting is great, the guy himself is believable... I think, the only kind of thig I would have done different is the camera angle, I would have made it a little diagonal maybe to give the scene a little less static appearance... But that might only be my opinion.

More please!
